12 of your favorite bratwurst sausages,
4 tablespoons butter
1 medium large sweet onion
1 green pepper, stem and seeds removed, chopped
½ cup chopped Zingers
1 jar sauerkraut, drained
1 (12-ounce) bottle of beer or 1½ cups apple juice

Melt butter in a large, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and green peppers and sauté until tender. Stir in chopped Zingers. Add drained sauerkraut to pan and stir mixture. Arrange bratwurst in a single layer over sauerkraut. Pour in beer. Cover pan and simmer until bratwurst are cooked through. Grill the brats until golden brown. Return to hot sauerkraut mixture until ready to serve.
Place brats on buns. Top with sauerkraut mixture. Offer ketchup and mustard on the side.

Tip for the cook:
The sauerkraut is also delicious on hamburgers. Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each burger and top with sauerkraut mixture.
